When are the lessons?
Please see our timetable of dance lessons.
We know that it’s difficult to commit to a term of lessons without knowing whether they are right for you or your child. You can book three trial lessons before making a commitment. If you’d like to do this please contact us.
How to book / register
To book taster lessons or register for a term’s lessons please contact us.
How do I pay?
Initially you pay a £5 enrolment fee for your child to have a 3 week trial. This can be brought to the first lesson or put in the post. Invoices are issued after the third lessaon and can be paid by cash, cheque or BACS.
Invoices are issued at the end of each term to be paid by the first week of the next one. Payments can be paid in one go or in 2 amounts.
What do the children wear for the first few lessons?
Leggings and a t-shirt are fine for girls and shorts and t-shirt for boys. Bare feet for Modern and Ballet and outdoor shoes for Tap.
Where can I buy the uniform?
We stock all uniform at competitive prices, in all the sizes and can fit dance shoes where required. Please print out a uniform list, fill in the details for the student to bring into their class with enclosed cash or cheque if not using bank transfer. Once paid we will get the uniform ready for the next class. If an item is out of stock, we will inform you and make it available to you once it has been received from the supplier.
We have second-hand boxes in the changing room at class times.
When do the children start taking exams?
We encourage students to take exams but they are optional. Students can progress with their friends if they have had good attendance and have completed the syllabus.
Exams are important to work for, and give the students a focus and a boost of self-confidence after the effort put in.
Can children do lessons without taking exams?
Yes they can but we have found that children are often keen to do the exams with their peers and they even enjoy the fuss and sense of occasion!
Is there any parking?
The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham has a small car park, with various parking in the surrounding roads if it is full. The car park is busy around 15:00-15:45 in the week and on Saturdays between 09:00-12:00.
Do I need to stay on the premises?
Parents/guardians should ensure that students under the age of 7 years old have a parent or designated guardian who remains on the premises for the duration of the lesson. This could be one Parent/Guardian in charge of a few children.
Is there somewhere to wait?
Yes, at The Pound in Corsham there is the added bonus of the cafe and art exhibitions.
Can I watch the lessons?
No but we often have ‘watching lessons’ after a group have taken an exam.
